I love Valentine's because I love pink, frilly, hearts and cute little Valentine Cards. And I got engaged on Valentine's Day. This year Martin took care of dinner for me and made me a very pretty Valentine Card and the boys did too. We also went out to dinner with friends from Church to Celebrate and then on Valentine's Day Martin got me my a very yummy Grande Mocha Lattee from Starbucks. I didn't always like Valentine's Day, especially when I was in school. There was always so much stress involved with it.... does he like me, why did he give her that card that says be mine on it.... ugh. And then there was 2nd grade and we had to make Valentine Holder Box and then they were judged and the newspaper came and took our picture and I won second place behind none other than Kaylee Winters. I always got second place behind her! I don't remember much about my childhood, but I remember that! Jonas told me the other night that he was a little sad because he didn't get a Valentine card from Sloan. He said he just doesn't understand why she doesn't want to be his girlfriend anymore, because they were in fact boyfriend and girlfriend last year. I asked him why he likes her and he turned red in the face and told me not to ask him that again. So cute!!!
This was a good day. The weather hung in there almost the entire day so we were able to enjoy being outside with friends. My strength has also pretty hung in there the entire day, too!
I made Jake write his name on all the Valentine's cards to his classmates and then write their name on the envelope. He has really great fine motor skills so it's a really task for him. I did NOT however make Jonas write his name of his friend's name on any of his. Instead we printed labels for him to stick on the back of the Valentine cards. It's so hard for him and I hate making something that is suppose to be fun into a nightmare task for him.
These were the Valentine Cards that Jake gave to his friends. The owl was my favorite. There was also a monster, bee and a cupcake card. Then we attached a Valentine Snoopy sticker to the back and put a pack of candy in the envelope with the card.
These were the cards for Jonas' classmates. I printed out Angry Birds and glued them to card stock and stapled them to the sweethearts.
This is the hardest snow we've had this winter. I can't believe it! It looked like a snow globe and then it was gone.
Playing outside today with friends. They were eating ring pops. I so loved spending time with Allie, she's 3 yrs old and so very precious and spunky!!
You can't beat half off Valentine Candy from Wal Mart. Jake didn't find it very amusing that he had to eat a princess ring pop! He chose princess Tiana because he said, she has dark skin like my girlfriend Jordan from my class. He's so freakin' cute!!
